Khizra Iftar Mat – Sharing More Than Just a Meal
Ramadan is more than a month on the calendar — it’s a feeling. It’s the quiet moments before Maghrib, the sound of dates being passed around, and the warmth of sitting shoulder to shoulder with your community. The Khizra Iftar Mat is a simple but beautiful part of that experience.
Laid out before sunset, the mat creates a welcoming space where everyone has a place to sit, reflect, and prepare to break their fast. It keeps the space clean and organised, but more importantly, it brings people together. Strangers become neighbours, and neighbours become family.
Volunteers move along the rows with dates and water, sharing smiles and duas. As the adhan is called, the entire room breaks their fast at once — a powerful moment of unity and gratitude.
